Early Career

In the early 1980s, Adani relocated to Mumbai and began working at Mahendra Brothers as a diamond sorter. He gained an early understanding of trade and finance during this time. His entrepreneurial journey began shortly after when he started importing and exporting PVC.

He founded Adani Exports, which is now Adani Enterprises, in 1988. The company began by dealing in power and agricultural commodities before progressively branching out into other industries.
